Consular Legalization

Legalization is a procedure used when a UAE document needs to be certified for official use abroad. Each document requires a double certification: first by the authorities of the United Arab Emirates and secondly by the authorities of the country where the documents will be used (the receiving country). This second certification, which is generally provided by the embassy or consulate representing the receiving country in the United Arab Emirates, confirms the first certification and so validates the document for official use in the receiving country.

Certified Translation

Where UAE documents are to be used abroad and where the receiving country has a different official language, a sworn or certified may also be required. Isarey takes care of any certified translations required as part of the document attestation process, ensuring that translations are carried out and certified in accordance with local regulations.

A certified translation on its own only provides assurance that the translation itself is accurate and true; it does not confirm the authenticity of the original document. The original document must be legalized for a certified translation to carry equivalent legal weight.

To obtain a replacement UAE birth certificate, the presence of the father and the mother or an authorized delegated person is required. You must contact the centre from which the original birth certificate was issued to receive a replacement. In the absence of a parent, a Letter of No Objection to issuing the birth certificate must be obtained from a UAE embassy or consulate.
