Yes - Singapore acceded to the Apostille Convention in 2021.

Singapore documents can be legalized for use abroad with an Apostille Stamp when destined for other signatory countries without additional certification by the destination country.

When Singapore documents are required for non-apostille countries, such as United Arab Emirates - Taiwan - Malaysia - Thailand - Qatar they need additional authentication by the embassy of the destination country.

Document legalization (or attestation) is a procedure which authenticates a public Singapore document so that it can be submitted in another country for official or legal purposes - for example, if you need to submit a Singapore birth certificate to the authority or embassy of another country, it will often need to be legalized.

Legalizing a document in Singapore certifies the authenticity of the signature appearing on the document as that of an authorized public official in Singapore and confirms the capacity of that official.

• Because Singapore is a member of the Apostille Convention, Singapore documents can be legalized by means of an Apostille Stamp when being submitted to countries that are also members of the Hague Apostille Convention
• If a Singapore document is required for a country that is not a member of the Apostille Convention, it will need to be legalized both by Singapore authorities and by the embassy of the recipient country (embassy in Singapore or non-resident embassy accredited to Singapore).

Certified digital extracts of Singapore birth and death certificates are available online from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority

Extracts are issued in digital format only. Birth extracts are restricted to the certificate holder or parent. Death extracts are restricted to close relatives of the deceased person.

To obtain an Apostille Stamp for a Singapore birth, death or marriage certificate, an original paper certificate is required or a digital extract issued by the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority or Marriage Registry.

Certificates of Good Standing and Corporate Compliance and Financial Profiles (CCFP) for Singapore companies can be obtained from the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA).

To obtain an Apostille Stamp to authenticate a Singapore Certificate of Clearance, the original certificate is required, issued by the Singapore Police Force

Singapore Certificates of Clearance (criminal background checks) can be obtained from the Singapore Police Force

• Singapore citizens can apply for a Police Certificate of Clearance online (Singpass Digital ID required). Singapore Citizens are not required to submit fingerprints.
• Non-Singapore citizens may apply for a COC and complete the application online.

Singapore residents will be notified to book an appointment for the submission of fingerprints. Non-residents will be notified to mail in a set of fingerprints recorded at an authorised institution in their country of residence (e.g. at a Singapore Embassy or local police station).

Applicants for a Singapore CoC will also need to provide evidence that a COC is required and for what purpose (e.g. a letter from a foreign immigration authority or embassy). Non-Singapore Citizens applicants are no longer required to submit an Appeal to Apply for a COC.

Certificates will be sent by mail to the address indicated in the application.
